Badri Narayan: He was born in Secundrabad, is a self-taught artist who has explored several mediums; apart from painting he has worked in mosaic, printmaking, woodcuts and engraving. One of the senior artists of India, Badrinarayan is known for his strong and beautiful lines and whimsical compositions. He has several solos and group shows to his credit, including a number of international biennales and triennials. He is the winner of the National Award in 1965 and the Padma Shri in 1987. Badrinarayan's fame doesn't solely depend on his reputation as an artist he is also a student of Indian philosophy and an accomplished storyteller, illustrator and writer of folklore and mythology.
