Atin Basak: was born in Calcutta, & graduated with a first class in B.V.A. (Indian Painting) from Govt. College of Art and Craft, Calcutta & in M.A. (Graphic Art) from M.S. University of Baroda. He was invited as a visiting lecturer by Director of Ecole Regionala des Beaux-Arts, Caen, Francefor three months, & by VISVA-BHARATI UNIVERSITY for demonstration lecture on graphics at KALA BHAVAN, SATINIKETAN. He has been honoured with awards from the State Academy Annual Exhibition, I.A.A.I. Calcutta Airport Art Camp, Gold Medal in West Bengal Youth Festival, Govt. College of Art and Craft, Award in Graphics and Painting, Award of Research Grant, Lalit Kala Academy, Award of National Cultural Scholarship under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. He has also been awarded junior Fellowship of Govt. of India Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Culture & Charles Wallace India Trust Arts Award to work for Edinburgh Printmakers Workshop for four months. His works are in eminent collections in India & all over the world.
