Aditya Basak: He was born in 1953 with a first class graduation ranking from the Govt. College of Arts and Crafts in 1977. He has also received the National Award for painting in 1986 and went on to win a series of awards and honours, art shows and camps, with solo exhibits and collection listing of his work in India and abroad. Basak's paintings have an ethereal, other wordly quality about them. They are brooding & intellectual. The images with their subtle colouring transports one to an introspective journey .These fantasies are almost always juxtaposed with a realization of the tangible universe.Besides the National Award for Painting from Lalit Kala Academy, Basak has received a number of accolades, held numerous exhibitions & his collections are present all over the USA, Europe, United Arab Emirates, and Australia, besides India.
