Amitava Das Born in Delhi, he studied drawing and painting at the College of Art, New Delhi. His oeuvre has mythical creatures spring from the imagination metamorphosing from one species to another. There is a child like sense of wonder in his drawings conjuring a world out of music, dreams, and poetry. The artist has participated in several exhibitions in India and abroad and his works are in the permanent collection of Society of Contemporary Art, London, National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi and Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal.
